Exposed Fastener, Corrugated, (Barn-style) Metal Roof:
The corrugated roofing system is meant to be used on barns or outbuildings. Outbuildings are buildings that are separate from the main building or home, such as barns, sheds, greenhouses, garages, stables, etc.
This type of roofing system has panels that overlap each other at the edges, and then screwed down at the overlapped areas. Caulking is commonly used to seal the panels at the point of overlap.
This type of roofing system has been used on residential houses for centuries. It is not recommended for residential buildings anymore, as there are many new and improved metal roofing systems that do not have exposed fasteners.
